Vintage Style Tea Box And Decoupage Paper

Hello 

 

It is so cold and rainy here. Nobody bustling around. I think this Is the perfect weather for me because I don't have to hesitate whether to stay home or go out. I can give onself my favourite activities in the quiet corner of my room.

Well, one of my tea boxes was made with absolute pleasure.

 I have played with pieces of great quality classic and very thin, almoust transparent and traditional decoupage paper.

For those who never did anthing like that I can say that paper plays a crucial role in decoupage. It is very best to use specially design for this technique in order to obtain good results. Motives on such paper tend to be very well sepatered from each other to be able to cut them easy. Most of the classic papers are made from high-strength material that easily stick to various surfaces such as wood, metal or even glass.

This box is a combination of everything: paper, acrylic paints and patina and a little bit of imagination. It was so popular so made another for one of my cutomers.

 Patchwork or a pieced work is a very popular form of needle work by sowing together pieces of fabric so it makes a coherent form. For anybody who likes this form of work here I have a patchwork photo frame made with paper napkin. 

The photo frames were the first objects I started to work with while learning how to decoupage.

Shabby Chic Gift Idea - Decoupage On Wood

  An upcoming wedding prompted me to look for a dress. Never mind that I have several to choose from, fashion changes and taste does as well.
I will never tire of the rose and of roses, however. I have quite a few in my steadily growing napkin collection.

The beginnings of my efforts were not easy, as I was not familiar with the technique or the materials used. I was however quite proud of the final effect.
If I recall correctly this is my first decoupage picture frame done with the napkin technique. You can admire the results yourself.

  The frame was finished with a velvet ribbon and a matte acrylic lacquer with a delicate tint around the edges of the frame - shabby chic style.

  In this piece I also first experienced working with a glue gun.
  I think the picture frame would make a lovely wedding souvenir. 

Returning to my dress - guess what I found in my closet .... a black and white dress with roses. Well, better late than never.
